Six months down, six months to go

Are you keeping up with the Aurifil Block of the Month?

These delightful embroidery designs are stitched out with Cotton Mako’ 12.

Pam’s “Summer Flowers” block, designed for the Aurifil 2012 Block of the Month quilt.

The guest designer for June is Pam Vieira-McGinnis of Pam Kitty Morning and her design above is very pretty. You can pop over to the Auribuzz blog to download the FREE PATTERN, and read her interview with Pat Sloan.

If you have missed any of the past blocks, you will find the full set of patterns listed on public pages of the Aurifil Thread Australia  website.

We have also packaged the Cotton Mako’ 12  threads for each of the blocks, and have them for sale at the Always Quilting online store.

This is the full set of Cotton Mako’ 12 threads for Pam’s block of the Month

The threads are packaged in two formats:

  • All the threads required for the individual block for those who only want to stitch that block
  • An Incremental set of threads for those people who have been collecting a block each month and already have the threads that have been used in previous blocks.

The incremental thread set for those people who have been collecting the Cotton mako’ 12 threads for the earlier blocks.

Don’t forget to upload a photo of your finished embroidery block to the Aurifil Flickr  page to enter the competition to win some threads from Aurifil.

Lastly, I know that not everyone can remember the embroidery stitches from their primary school days so you will find video instructions at We Love French Knots or you can download a free printed guide to embroidery stitches from the Martingdale How to Quilt pages.

I hope this tempts you to pick up a needle and thread today to start embroidering the June block.
