AQM & how time disappears when you are busy

The Australian Quilt Market, in Sydney, is one of the two wholesale trade shows held each year for patchwork and quilting businesses.

Now that the Sydney Quilt & Craft Show has already opened,  I am feeling guilty that this is the first chance that I have had to report on the wholesale trade show that happened earlier in the month.

However, as I launched several new items at the show, I thought I would still tell you a little about our smaller event,

The new Kit Art Collection of Aurifil threads from Edyta Sitar is very appealing

The Kit Art collections are supplied ready packed from the Aurifil factory but we also pack our own project related thread packs in the store and had a selection of these on display.

The latest thread sets were packed in response to inquiries that we have received for threads to use to applique McKenna Ryan’s Bella Garden block of the month quilt.

Our in-house pre-packed thread sets to applique “Bella Garden” by McKenna Ryan.

Visit the Always Quilting online store to see more about the Kit Art collections and our in-house thread sets.

Being a trade only show the number of people through the door doesn’t come anywhere near the crowds that attend the retail shows but it is still exciting for us (the wholesalers) to talk to our customers and show off our latest & greatest products.

The quiet before the storm, first thing in the morning while all the delegates were in the workshop presentations.

The stand next door to me was a pattern designer from Tasmania.

Clare’s Place, a great pattern designer from Tasmania.

This year, for the first time, I flew and had my goods transported to Sydney. It was so much easier than driving that I will consider doing the same again next year.

I wonder what new things I will have to introduce at the next wholesale trade show in Melbourne in November.
