Sew Bright Patchwork Retreat: Day 3

Day three dawned bright & clear and we were off to an early start as some of the participants planned to leave immediately after class, and had long distances to travel.  Jenny had chosen a one day class with Rhonda Shallcross, so she joined Judy & Heather at the community hall today.

After day two, when Judy & Heather spent much of the day painting backgrounds with Gloria, today was a busy day spent at the sewing machine & iron and everyone was surprised when it was time to pack up for “show & tell” at the end of the day.

Heather painted the sky fabric, then stitched the contours of the foreground into place ready for the decorative embroidery detail

Judy, painted & pieced the background for her landscape and still found time to start adding the decorative stitching detail with Aurilux thread from Aurifil.

Jenny’s class was more traditional , with an interesting  twist, so much of  the time was spent cutting, pressing, stitching & re-pressing.  However she thinks that she has a project that is now organised, and manageable, so it is unlikely to become another UFO

The units for Jenny's project are all ready to be positioned & stitched

You will just have to browse back here regularly (or subscribe) to follow the progress of these three Retreat projects.
