It was a “Chocolate Coated” day at AQC

Day one is over at the Australasian Quilt Convention and I saw a lot of cheerful people, smiling as they left at the end of the day.  Hopefully all the exhibitors are as happy as the visitors, making it a win / win  event for everyone. The change of date, to a cooler time of the year, has meant that it was a much more enjoyable day this year, compared to the heat wave experienced on the first day last year.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was presenting a talk about Aurifil, as a guest speaker for Chocolate Coated a Victorian online store.  So I was very pleased to see that a small group of people had stayed on until the last gasp to attend my talk at 3.30pm. These dedicated threadaholic were rewarded with a voucher to present at the Chocolate Coated stand to claim a complimentary spool of Cotton Mako’  thread.

I also had time for a quick spin around the market hall and found that I had missed mentioning some of the Aurifil retailers the other day, when I listed the shops who had stands at the Convention.  So apologies to Kaye from Needles & Pins, Carol from Chery Pie Designs & Corliss from Threadbear.

Stay tuned for the next post.

Tomorrow I plan to allow time to check out the quilt exhibitions.
