What a busy week it has been.

It has been such a busy week in the store that this is the first chance that I have had to post a message. I spent the week packing & posting Aurifil thread orders for patchwork shops, online orders for individual crafts people and even found some time to squeeze in some quilting for my customers.  It had been a while since I had turned on the quilting machine so I enjoyed the quilting,  it is always a nice treat to work on other people’s pretty quilt tops, but the absolute pick of the jobs this week was packing 2 thread stands for a new shop in Queensland.

Patchwork Avenue has just opened in Childers, on the Bruce highway,  and Margaret has added the full range of Ne 40 Cotton Mako’ variegated colours plus a glorious selection of solid colours. All I can say is “Lucky girls, in and around Childers, you will have some beautiful threads with which to play.

The other item of interest this week, while browsing a book store, was the discovery of the first issue of a new textile magazine.

First edition of a new Australian magazine

“Embellish” has been produced in Australia by the independent publishers who also produce “Felt” and this issue includes articles by many well known textile artists. You can find out more about the magazine on their website:  www.artwearpublications.com.au
